If you've had a big weekend, these might be ideal for you now!
When it comes to the morning after, you're either craving something salty and greasy or a green healthy kick: but these unexpected foods might actually be better in fixing your hangover.
1. Coke
Yup that fizzy drink that you were using as a mixer last night is actually supposed to be a great way to get yourself feeling better. The internet suggests that Mexican Coke is the best for this hack, but all soda is supposed to help alleviate the dehydration that stems from drinking.
2. A bagel- with ALL the fillings
Bagels tend to be super salty and also contain potassium, help replenish lost stores to make you feel better. Add cream cheese and bacon, you'll get a dose of protein, which neutralizes the irritating acids alcohol leaves in your stomach! PLUS, who doesn't love a bagel?
3. Chips
Okay now, this one is a little strange, but apparently one of the best snacks is actually a great way to rid you of the night before. Just make sure you hold out on the salsa because the spice can increase your thirst and ultimately you feel worse than when you first woke up.
4. Tomato Juice
This is another one you might have had on a night out, but tomato juice is also great as it's an electrolyte solution with nice and healthy complex carbohydrates, delivering sodium and potassium into your system quickly, while tomatoes deliver complex carbohydrates that improve blood sugar with longer.
5. Cold orange juice
Orange juice is a bit more of a normal one, usually found at brunch the next day. Because orange juice has an acid-neutralizing effect when it's metabolized and delivers potassium, it's an A+ hangover hydrator.
6. Banana and honey
Honestly, we're just taking this as another excuse to eat pancakes! Banana's deliver potassium, an electrolyte you lose if you're hitting the dance floor hard. As well as vitamins C and B6 from the banana's, honey is a natural sugar that helps to metabolize alcohol
7. Coconut water
Any liquid can be helpful for hydration, but coconut water gets extra credit since it contains electrolytes, unlike water. Adding pineapple juice doesn't just make the drink taste more like a pina colada, but also adds sugar that can moderate your moodiness once it hits the bloodstream!
