Brace yourselves! If you’ve ever clutched your lunch for dear life on Rainbow’s End's wild Pirate Ship, you’re in for a treat—it's making a comeback in 2025!

This beast of a ride has been MIA since 2017, leaving a Pirate Ship-shaped hole in our hearts.

When it launched back in '83, it spent nearly four decades flipping stomachs and bringing pure chaos before calling it quits due to a lack of replacement parts but a German-based manufacturer has swung in to save the day with new parts set to arrive on NZ soil early next year.

Rainbow’s End big boss, Susan Mudie, said: “The Pirate Ship was a Park favourite for decades and our guests were vocal about missing it. We couldn’t walk past that kind of feedback so started investigating how to bring it back, better than ever.”

Don’t worry, if you're all about keeping it original, the new Pirate Ship will still have that classic swing action that had kids and their ‘hang on for dear life’ parents flying 75 degrees up. But now, it’s getting a glow-up with some slick new theming and extra care for guests.

BUT where will the Pirate ship go? Coz right now a killer laser tag kit out is set up in its place 🤔

And can someone confirm if Road Patrol students still get taken to Rainbow's End? And if you went on that trip in primary school then, probably time for a night cream.
