The rumour mill is busy churning away with reports that Rihanna is recording new music for the Blank Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack!
We've been waiting for new music for six long years, and now it is finally looking like there might be some new music coming our way! According to music news source Hits Daily Double, she's recorded two new songs which will feature on the soundtrack for Blank Panther: Wakanda Forever.
While we haven't heard anything officially on the topic, rumours that she's been linked to the movie have been swirling for a while.
Late in 2020, fans speculated that Rihanna would be cast in the sequel to the 2018 hit starring the late Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and more. (Unfortunately that rumour was debunked, but how cool would it have been to see a Fenty store in Wakanda!?)
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to hit theaters in NZ on November 10th.
If the rumors are true, the two new tracks would be her first new music since her feature on PARTYNEXTDOOR's "BELIEVE IT" in 2020. Her last studio album, Anti, was released in early 2016.
We're also convinced new music is on the way after it was announced our girl is going to be headling the Super Bowl halftime show in February. Rumors about that appearance started swirling late in September after TMZ reported the NFL and Roc Nation were in discussions to book the artist and CEO as the main act for the halftime show.
Not long after the rumours started making some noise online, Rihanna herself took to Instagram to verify the hype. All she posted was an image of her holding up a football -- no caption needed.
