Liam Hemsworth takes subtle dig at Miley Cyrus after their break up

Liam Hemsworth has spoken out on social media for the first time since the couple broke up earlier this week. 

Hemsworth took to Instagram with a post, reportedly taken at Australia's Byron Bay, with a quick message for his fans. 

"Hi all - Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love." he said in the Instagram post.

The subtle dig about the break-up being a 'private matter' comes after his ex-wife Miley was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter shortly after the pair revealed that they had split. 

Following the release of those pictures, there was a tense exchange on Brody Jenner's Instagram - ex-husband of Kaitlynn Carter - between Jenner's friend and Miley Cyrus.

The pair announced their break-up earlier this week after getting married back in December 2018.
