Kim Kardashian may be the apple of his eye.

But even Kanye West couldn't resist Bad Gal RiRi according to Daily Mail.

A newly unearthed viral clip from the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards shows the now 41-year-old rapper gazing at Rihanna before awkwardly being caught by his 37-year-old wife.

In it Kim could be seen recording a video during the 30-year-old singer's performance before stopping abruptly when she sees Kanye staring.

One Twitter user wrote: 'see how fast Kim stopped snapchatting when she caught Kanye eying up Rihanna.'

Another said: 'I want someone to look at me the way Kanye looks at Rihanna.'

At the same award show, Kanye famously made a speech in which he declared that he was running for president, which he has since backtracked on.

Rihanna was honoured with the Video Vanguard award as she had four performances which highlighted her career.
